How many of you remember times when you were younger playing around and having fun with your family? Monopoly, biking, hiking, movie night, whatever. For me, I reminisce on the nature outings, mountain trails, and just playing around in the dirt.
So as I lead my family where we need to go, I’m always looking for things that will help us to be better holistically. Exercising and playing together is an excellent way to get a physical boost in addition to a psychological boost. My search led me to one of West Lafayette’s awesome parks: Cumberland Park, which is located at N Salisbury and Kalberer Rd a few blocks behind the West Lafayette Payless Superstore.
This is a phenomenal park. It has basketball courts, a baseball diamond, a volleyball court, community vegetable gardens, and a nature trail and a paved trail surrounding a small swamp and retention pond. My family and I had a wonderful time going through the trail and seeing a different part of town. I can tell you definitively that we will be back.
